Looking for a 750 Words alternative?

Jots & Nibbles is the same idea — write privately, every day, without judgment — brought up to date: offline on your phone, streaks that forgive a missed day, and a free tier that never expires.

Free forever. No credit card. Works offline, on any device.

First, some respect

750 Words has been quietly helping people write three pages every morning since 2009, and it deserves a lot of the credit for the whole idea of low-pressure daily writing on the web. If you found this page, you probably already love that idea. So do we — Jots & Nibbles exists because of it.

This isn't a takedown. It's an honest comparison for people who love the daily-pages habit but want it to work offline, on a phone, with a streak that doesn't punish one busy Tuesday.

What "brought up to date" actually means

The habit is the same. The circumstances of 2026 are not the circumstances of 2009.

Your phone counts

Most writing moments happen away from a desk. Jots & Nibbles installs like a native app and works fully offline — planes, trains, and dead zones included.

Streaks without shame

A streak should measure a habit, not perfection. Grace days mean one missed day doesn't erase a month of momentum — and you can turn them off if you prefer strict.

A gentler daily reminder

An optional email at the time you choose, with your streak and a glimpse of what you wrote a week, a month, and a year ago.

Free means free

The core habit — daily writing, streaks, quick notes, reminders, full export — costs nothing, forever. Premium adds AI insights and deeper analytics when you want them.

Where 750 Words wins

An honest comparison has this section. Here's ours.

  • Sixteen years of history. 750 Words has been running since 2009. We're the new arrival, and longevity is earned, not claimed. (It's also why export is free here — your words should never be hostage to any app's survival, ours included.)
  • The community and monthly challenges. The monthly one-month challenge, the pledges, the wall of people writing alongside you — that ritual is real and we don't have an equivalent.
  • Playful stats on every entry. 750 Words analyzes each day's writing — mood, mindset, frequently used words — automatically and included in the price. Our AI insights are monthly, optional, and part of Premium.
  • The badges. The animal badge menagerie is genuinely charming. We have milestones, but we'll admit theirs are more fun.

If those are the things you love most, stay — 750 Words is a good home and it doesn't need replacing. If what you want is the same daily practice on modern rails, keep reading.

Common questions from 750 Words folks

Can I import my 750 Words entries?

Not yet — there's no importer today, and we won't pretend otherwise. If you'd want one, email us; knowing people are waiting is how it gets prioritized.

Do I have to write 750 words?

No. Pick any daily target from 50 to 5,000 words. Plenty of people set 750 out of habit and affection — it's a good number.

Is the free tier a trial?

No. Daily writing, streaks with grace days, Nibbles, offline sync, reminders, and full export are free for as long as you like. Premium (AI insights, advanced analytics) has a 7-day free trial and you can cancel anytime.

What happens when I miss a day?

If you have a grace day left this month (you get up to two), your streak survives. If not, it resets — and the app doesn't guilt-trip you about it either way. Tomorrow is another page.

Same habit. Modern rails.

Your first jot takes five minutes, and the free tier isn't a trial.
